Usually not scale -- at 1 to 7 grains per gallon there is almost nothing in this water to deposit. Output that tapers off here is more often a fill valve that has corroded rather than furred, or a filter overdue. A module failure stops ice outright; scale makes it dwindle. Which one you have is usually clear from whether it faded or died overnight — though most people only notice once output has halved, so we test rather than guess.
